Sculpture under plexiglass
Lis Sam
Lis Sam is a contemporary French artist of Tunisian origin, born in 1989 and currently based in France. A self-taught artist with roots in the street art scene, he has spent over a decade exploring the intersection of figurative art, optical art, glass-encased sculpture, floral elements, and poetic portraiture. His unique artistic journey began at a very young age. A pivotal encounter with a butterfly greenhouse in the south of France laid the foundation for his most iconic project : "Blossoming Girls"-a series of contemporary works in which thousands of preserved butterflies are meticulously assembled to form highly textured, visually immersive portraits of women.
