Amaury Dubois

An impressive style sets the young and talented Amaury Dubois apart. One might imagine that he has his roots in surrealism with influences from cubism, but he prefers to call his approach “curvism”. Nothing is clear in real life, so he chose not to interpret straight lines — because innovation does not follow a straight line, and because his passion is stimulated by everything that is liquid and watery. His painting is a pictorial synthesis of his way of observing the world, a bundle of references: Amaury Dubois “does today what it was intended”.

His liquid, flowing universe unfolds across series such as Flying Whale, Heart Shaped Box, Planet of Sound and Summer Vibes. Amaury Dubois held his vernissage at Momentum Art Gallery Knokke on 30 March 2024, presenting new works including an edition created exclusively for the event.
